A feature in textbook by Raymond Serway and Chris Vuille highlighting Physics and Music

I was honored to be pictured in Raymond Serway and Chris Vuille's textbook College Physics published by Cengage Learning, 2011 (pg. 143).

This section is an example of a cross-curriculum integration, combining the physics of sound creation on a piano with pianists' conscious approach to sound color and timbres.

The abstract states:

"While physics can seem challenging, its true quality is the sheer simplicity of fundamental physical theories--theories and concepts that can enrich your view of the world around you. COLLEGE PHYSICS, Ninth Edition, provides a clear strategy for connecting those theories to a consistent problem-solving approach, carefully reinforcing this methodology throughout the text and connecting it to real-world examples."
